Attacking midfielder Olivia Moultrie has signed a four-year contract extension with the Portland Thorns, the club announced on Tuesday.

Moultrie, who just turned 20 in September, has played with the Thorns since 2021 after she signed as a 15-year-old. She will remain in Portland through the 2029 season.

“Portland isn’t just where I play, it’s home,” Moultrie said. “The community, fans, energy at Providence Park, it’s all part of who I am now. To be able to keep representing this city means everything. From Day 1, this organization has believed in me and supported my development in ways I’ll always be grateful for. I grew up in this league wearing Thorns colors and that’s shaped me and my expectations. Top to bottom, this organization expects greatness and that’s exactly where I want to be.”

The Santa Clara, Calif. native has made 10 appearances with the United States women’s national team and has scored four goals in international competition.

She was named U.S. Soccer’s Young Player of the Year in 2023.

Moultrie produced a breakout year for the Thorns in 2025, leading the team with a career-best eight goals. She started 24 of 26 games and amassed 2,163 minutes, the third-most in franchise history.

She has tallied 18 career goals and added 11 assists in 95 career matches in Portland.

“We are thrilled to extend Olivia as a Thorn for the foreseeable future. We have seen her playing arc see tremendous growth over the course of her development in Portland. Her on-field capabilities, her sheer competitiveness, and the maturity off the pitch has established her as one of our nation’s brightest young stars,” said Jeff Agoos, Portland’s president and general manager.

Portland (11-8-7, 40 points) finished third in the league standings and made the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season. They will host the San Diego Wave in a quarterfinal playoff match on Sunday.
