Angel City FC signed veteran German defender Sara Doorsoun to a contract through 2026 on Tuesday.

She was acquired from Frauen-Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt for an undisclosed transfer fee and will occupy an international roster slot.

Doorsoun, 33, scored eight goals in 88 matches with Eintracht Frankfurt and twice helped the club reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinals.

“We are excited to welcome Sara to Angel City,” ACFC sporting director Mark Parsons said. “She has significant club and international experience that will immediately impact our team on and off the field. We look forward to having her quality and leadership in the group as we continue to push for playoffs in the second half of the season.”

Doorsoun has been playing professionally in Germany since 2007. Internationally, she helped the German national team win a silver medal at the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro Championship and a bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

“It has been my dream to play in Los Angeles,” Doorsoun said. “I came to L.A. when I was 14 with the U-15 German National Team and it was always on my mind to play there. I didn’t know if this team would exist and now that it does, my dream is coming true 19 years later. I promise to give it my all for the fans and the city.”
