The Dallas Stars traded veteran forward Mason Marchment to the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night.

In exchange, the Stars received a fourth-round draft pick in 2025 and a third-round selection in 2026.

Marchment, 30, tied a career high with 22 goals and added 25 assists in 62 games for Dallas in 2024-25.

“Mason adds an important skillset to our roster,” Kraken general manager Jason Botterill said in a statement. “He’s a veteran player who brings a combination of size, skill and toughness. Mason knows what it takes to win, having been part of deep postseason runs with the Stars. We’re excited to have him join our group.”

Marchment carries a $4.5 million cap hit for 2025-26 and the Stars have salary-cap issues after signing All-Star forward Mikko Rantanen to an eight-year, $96 million deal in March.

The 6-foot-5 Marchment has recorded 189 points (76 goals, 113 assists), a plus-64 rating and 258 penalty minutes in 302 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers and Stars. He has 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) in 59 playoff games.
