Edmonton Oilers defensemen Darnell Nurse and Slater Koekkoek were placed on injured reserve Friday.

The Oilers also moved goaltender Mike Smith to long-term injured reserve and recalled defensemen Philip Broberg and William Lagesson from AHL affiliate Bakersfield.

Nurse, 26, has skated in 326 consecutive games for the Oilers dating back to February 2017.

He has 11 assists in 16 games this season and leads Edmonton in average time on ice (26:06). He played 31:21 in Thursday night’s 2-1 shootout win against the Winnipeg Jets.

Nurse has 168 points (45 goals, 123 assists) in 422 games with the Oilers since they drafted him in the first round (seventh overall) in 2013.

Koekkoek, 27, has one assist in 11 games this season. He has 31 points (eight goals, 23 assists) in 178 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks and Oilers.

Smith, 39, has not played since Oct. 19 due to a lower-body injury. He was placed on IR on Oct. 20. He is 2-0-0 with a .920 save percentage and a 3.08 goals-against average in three starts this season.
