The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired forward Kyle Clifford from the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday in exchange for future considerations.

Clifford spent the first nine-plus seasons of his NHL career with the Los Angeles Kings before he was dealt to Toronto at the 2020 trade deadline. He then joined St. Louis during free agency on a two-year deal with a $1 million average annual value.

Clifford, 30, has only played two games this season despite not being injured, registering one assist. In 13 seasons, he has appeared in 728 games and collected 140 points (65 goals, 75 assists).

He’s also tallied 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) across 64 playoff games. He won two Stanley Cups as part of the Kings (2012, 2014).

Clifford hails from the province of Ontario in a town not far from Toronto.
