The Chicago Blackhawks are shutting down forward Philipp Kurashev for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

Coach Luke Richardson announced the decision Tuesday but said Kurashev, 23, will not require surgery for the injury he sustained Thursday against the Washington Capitals.

Kurashev recorded a career-high 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 70 games this season.

He has 62 points (23 goals, 39 assists) in 191 career games since the Blackhawks drafted him in the fourth round in 2018.
