The injured hamstring of Houston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor is improving, but a timetable for his return to action remains unclear.

Coach David Culley said Monday that Taylor is listed as day to day but wouldn’t commit to him practicing this week.

Taylor suffered the injury on Sept. 19 in a 31-21 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Taylor was placed on injured reserve later in the day, and Culley has been steadfast that he will return to the starting job.

Taylor, 32, has started 49 games in his career and made the Pro Bowl with the Buffalo Bills in 2015. He has completed 61.7 percent of his passes and thrown for 10,186 yards, with 57 touchdowns against 20 interceptions for his career. He’s 25-22-1 as a starter.

The Texans (1-5) will play Sunday at the Arizona Cardinals (6-0).
