The Minnesota Vikings are in agreement with free agent cornerback Byron Murphy on a two-year contract worth up to $22 million, multiple outlets reported.

The base value is $17.5 million, but incentives could push the contract up to $22 million, per the reports.

Murphy, 25, begins the overhaul of the Vikings’ secondary. Last year’s starters Patrick Peterson and Cameron Dantzler are gone. Nickelback Chandon Sullivan and Duke Shelley become free agents at the start of the new league year, Wednesday afternoon at 4 ET.

Murphy has five career interceptions and 34 passes defensed in 56 career games (48 starts) with the Arizona Cardinals, who selected him in the second round of the 2019 draft.

Murphy was limited to nine games in 2022 with a back injury, going on injured reserve Dec. 24.
