Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson did not participate in Thursday’s practice due to an illness, the first time this season he was unavailable.

Tyler Huntley and Josh Johnson stood in at quarterback in the absence of Jackson, who missed games in December each of the past two seasons due to injury.

The Ravens are otherwise fully healthy coming out of the bye week and face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

NFL Network reported Jackson should be ready for gameday.

Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman missed Wednesday’s practice due to illness but was back on the field Thursday afternoon.

Offensive coordinator Todd Monken said head coach John Harbaugh would have to share any information on the reason for Jackson’s absence.

Jackson, 26, has completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 2,618 yards with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions in 12 games this season. The 2019 NFL MVP has rushed for 574 yards and five TDs for the Ravens (9-3), who have won six of seven games entering Sunday’s clash against the visiting Los Angeles Rams (6-6).

Huntley, Baltimore’s primary backup, posted a 2-2 record while replacing Jackson in 2022.
