NFL: Patriots QB Mac Jones (back) attends practice

New England quarterback Mac Jones was on the field Wednesday as the Patriots reported perfect attendance at practice.

Jones told reporters Monday that he did not expect a back issue to keep him out of Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh.

He said an X-ray after the Week 1 defeat at Miami revealed no structural damage.

Safety Adrian Phillips also participated Wednesday after sustaining a rib injury in the first half of the season-opening 20-7 loss to the Dolphins.

Jones, 24, said he likely injured his back on a roughing-the-passer penalty in the fourth quarter.

“I’ve been hit harder before, I’ll probably get hit harder in the future,” Jones said.

Jones did not miss a snap of the Miami game. He completed 21 of 30 passes for 213 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
