New York Giants coach Joe Judge took blame Thursday for the team’s 1-5 start, saying the “fish stinks from the head down.”

The Giants have dropped two straight and Judge is 7-15 overall since taking over as the front man for the once proud franchise. The Giants are 0-3 at home with a fourth game coming this Sunday, playing host to the Carolina Panthers (3-3). They’ve been outscored 82-38 in their home games.

So in a variation of the “buck stops here,” Judge made it clear who’s at fault.

“I’m the head coach. It’s my responsibility, point blank,” Judge said Thursday. “Every player on this field, every position group, the execution, it all comes down to me. The fish stinks from the head down.

“I’ve been taught that from great guys who I worked for, played for. There are no excuses, no exceptions. But it starts with me and ends with me.”

The Giants have been besieged by injuries. Star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and wide receivers Kenny Golladay (knee) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) missed practice Thursday. Starting left tackle Andrew Thomas was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week.
