The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie on Friday.

McKenzie, who signed a two-year, $4.4 million deal with the Bills last season, was due to a $250,000 roster bonus this weekend. The move saves the Bills just over $2.7 million in cap space.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane was asked about the potential move involving McKenzie on Thursday.

“We’re still sorting that out,” Beane said. “Love Isaiah, he’s been great for us. We’re talking internally about making sure we don’t have too much duplicates (in terms of skill sets). But I think we’ll know here in the next couple of days.”

McKenzie, 27, recorded career-high totals in catches (42) and receiving yards (423) while playing in 15 games (eight starts) last season. He also had four touchdown receptions, one shy of his career-best total set in 2020.

McKenzie has 141 catches for 1,345 yards and 11 touchdowns in 80 career games (26 starts) with the Denver Broncos and Bills. He was selected by the Broncos in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
