Henry To’o To’o is coming back to Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The Alabama linebacker and defensive signal caller announced Friday that he plans to return to the Crimson Tide for his senior season rather than entering the 2022 NFL Draft.

A junior middle linebacker, To’o To’o was voted to the All-Southeastern Conference second team by the league’s coaches this season after leading Alabama in tackles with 112.

“I loved my experience this past season but things didn’t end how any of us wanted. We didn’t achieve our ultimate goal,” To’o To’o said in a statement on his Instagram account. “And I can’t leave my brothers now knowing that we have unfinished business to attend to. Let’s go to work in 2022.”

To’o To’o arrived at Alabama via transfer ahead of the 2021 campaign after playing his first two years of college football for SEC rival Tennessee. In 2019, multiple media outlets named him as a Freshman All-American.

In addition to leading the Crimson Tide in tackles in 2021, To’o To’o also racked up 8.5 tackles for losses, four sacks, two pass breakups and a forced fumble. He started in all of Alabama’s 15 games, anchoring a defense that ranked seventh nationally in yards allowed per-game (302.8) and 18th in points allowed per-game (20.1).

In Alabama’s national championship loss to Georgia, To’o To’o tallied six tackles.

The Crimson Tide finished the season as SEC Champions with a 13-2 record, but To’o To’o will return with his sights set on brining Alabama another national title.

Alabama will also play at Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium on Oct. 15, giving To’o To’o the opportunity to return to his old stomping grounds to face his former team.
