Saturday’s nonconference game between No. 16 Seton Hall and Iona has been canceled due to COVID-19 issues within the Pirates’ program, Stadium and USA Today reported Thursday.

The game against Iona, part of the two-game Gotham Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York, likely will not be made up. Pittsburgh-St. John’s is the opener of the event.

Seton Hall could be in danger of missing its first two Big East contests as well — against St. John’s on Monday and DePaul next Thursday. Big East policy states that any team unable to play because of COVID would have to forfeit and take a loss in the standings.

Seton Hall is 9-1 to start the season.
