Three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference forward Ben Krikke, formerly of Valparaiso, announced Monday that he has committed to Iowa for his final season of eligibility in 2023-24.

Krikke’s announcement on social media comes three days after Roger Powell Jr. was named the new coach at Valparaiso, which dismissed Matt Lottich after seven seasons.

A grad transfe, Krikke led the MVC in scoring in the 2022-23 season with 19.4 points per game. The 6-foot-9 Krikke also led the Beacons with 5.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 32 starts.

Krikke will bring scoring punch to an Iowa team losing its top scorers from 2022-23 — Kris Murray and Filip Rebraca — among four players overall.

Krikke averaged 13.1 points in 122 career games (90 starts) for Valparaiso.
