NCAAB: Five-star PG Skyy Clark commits to Illinois

Skyy Clark, a five-star point guard in the Class of 2022, committed to play his college basketball at Illinois on Thursday.

Clark, who de-committed from Kentucky last month, picked the Illini over Louisville, Southern California, Maryland, Tennessee and Washington.

The 6-foot-3 guard was No. 27 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings, as well as the fifth-best point guard. He played at Montverde Academy in Florida for his senior year of high school.

Illinois’ class moved up to No. 8 in the country by 247Sports’ rankings. Coach Brad Underwood already had letters of intent from three four-stars: power forward Ty Rodgers, combo guard Jayden Epps and shooting guard Sencire Harris.

Clark will help an Illinois backcourt that recently lost Andre Curbelo to the transfer portal.

Clark’s father is former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Kenny Clark.
