Dallas Mavericks swingman Josh Green agreed to a three-year, $41 million extension on Monday, ESPN reported.

Monday is the deadline for 2020 draft choices to sign extensions.

Green was the 18th overall pick in 2020. He is expected to be Dallas’ starting small forward this season.

Green, who turns 23 on Nov. 16, averaged career bests of 9.1 points and 3.0 rebounds in 60 games (21 starts) last season.

In 166 games (29 starts) over three seasons, Green has averaged 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds.

The Australian played one college season at Arizona before declaring for the draft. He averaged 12 points and 4.6 rebounds in 30 games for the Wildcats.

Also, star guard Luka Doncic returned to the practice on Monday for the first time since injuring his left calf in a practice in Madrid, Spain on Oct. 9.

“The plan is for him to practice again tomorrow and we’ll see how he feels,” Dallas coach Jason Kidd said of the process that will determine whether or not Doncic can play in Wednesday’s opener against the San Antonio Spurs.
