The Brooklyn Nets officially signed free agent guard Goran Dragic on Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.

In a corresponding transaction, the Nets requested waivers on guard Jevon Carter.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls reportedly also were interested in Dragic, who previously played with Nets coach Steve Nash when the two were with the Phoenix Suns.

The San Antonio Spurs negotiated a contract buyout with Dragic, 35, after acquiring him from the Toronto Raptors at the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 10.

Dragic appeared in just five games for Toronto before stepping away from the team due to personal reasons in late November. He has not played since Nov. 13 after averaging 8.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in his limited time with the Raptors.

Dragic has career averages of 13.9 points, 4.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 872 games (524 starts) with the Suns, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets and Raptors.

He made the All-NBA third team and was named the league’s Most Improved Player in 2013-14. He was selected to the All-Star team in the 2017-18 season.

Carter, 26, is averaging 3.6 points in 46 games (one start) for the Nets this season.

Brooklyn (31-28) returns to action Thursday against the visiting Boston Celtics. The Nets entered the All-Star break in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
