Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis left in the third quarter Sunday against the Toronto Raptors with an apparent eye injury.

Davis blocked a shot attempt by the Raptors’ Jakob Poeltl near the basket before Poeltl’s left hand connected with Davis’ face.

Davis had multiple eye injuries late last season. He suffered a corneal abrasion in March against the Golden State Warriors and was hit again in the left eye in April against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Davis had 22 points in 26 minutes before leaving Sunday. He had been listed as probable before the game with plantar fasciitis.

Davis entered the game averaging 32.4 points and 11.3 rebounds in 36.3 minutes. Davis has averaged 24.2 points and 10.6 rebounds in 744 games (737 starts) for the New Orleans Pelicans (2012-19) and Lakers in his 13-year career.
