Guard Kevin Huerter signed a contract extension with the Atlanta Hawks that begins with the 2022-23 season, the team announced on Monday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but multiple media outlets reported it’s a four-year, $65 million deal.

“It was important to our group to secure Kevin as a part of our team moving forward,” Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said in a statement. “He’s developed into a versatile, two-way player who can fit any lineup and can play minutes all over the perimeter. We are excited his future is in Atlanta.”

Selected by Atlanta in the first round (19th overall) of the 2018 draft out of Maryland, the 6-foot-7 Huerter averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 69 games played last season, including 49 starts.

Huerter, 23, also performed well in the playoffs last season, averaging 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists while helping the franchise reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in the past 50 years.
