Jeff Dowtin Jr. scored a career-high 30 points and Lonnie Walker IV added 24, helping the visiting Philadelphia 76ers snap a 12-game losing streak with a 122-103 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

Dowtin made 11 of 15 shots from the floor and 4 of 7 from 3-point range to eclipse his previous career-high point total of 24, set in a 112-100 loss to the Indiana Pacers on March 14.

Philadelphia’s Quentin Grimes overcame a brutal start to finish with 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Grimes, who was questionable for the game with back soreness, misfired on all 10 shots from the floor — including six from 3-point range — in the first half.

Rookie Adem Bona collected 17 points and nine rebounds, and Jared Butler scored 13 points for the 76ers (24-56), who posted their first win since a 130-125 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on March 16.

Prior to the game, Philadelphia announced star guard Tyrese Maxey will not return this season after reinjuring his sprained right finger.

Washington’s Tristan Vukcevic scored a career-high 24 points off the bench, and Justin Champagnie contributed 14 to go along with 12 rebounds.

Kyshawn George and Colby Jones each had 13 points and Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington added 12 apiece for the Wizards (17-63), who have lost four in a row and 12 of their last 14 games.

Dowtin sank three 3-pointers and a midrange jumper as part of an 11-2 run to give the 76ers an 86-76 lead late in the third quarter.

Washington scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to cut Philadelphia’s advantage to 89-84, but the 76ers put together a 22-7 surge to effectively put the game away. Walker scored seven points and Dowtin added six in that stretch.

Butler sank a 3-pointer to extend Philadelphia’s lead to 48-37 with 4:19 remaining in the second quarter, but Washington trimmed its deficit to 53-50 at halftime. Jones scored seven of his team’s final 13 points during that stretch.
