The Portland Timbers waived defender Miguel Araujo on Thursday.

The 30-year-old Peruvian recorded four assists in 25 MLS matches (19 starts) with Portland from 2023-24.

“This decision allows Miguel to focus on his next sporting opportunity and gives us further ability to explore options to strengthen our roster moving forward,” general manager Ned Grabavoy said. “We wish Miguel and his family all the best.”

Araujo joined the Timbers in June 2023 from Dutch side FC Emmen.
