San Diego FC acquired defender Luca Bombino on loan from Los Angeles FC on Tuesday.

LAFC receives a 2025 international roster slot in exchange for the 18-year-old homegrown player.

The loan period runs through the 2025 MLS season and includes a permanent transfer option.

“Luca is a talented young player with a bright future,” San Diego sporting director Tyler Heaps said. “We’re excited to have him join the team this season and look forward to supporting his continued growth at San Diego FC.”

Bombino has yet to make his MLS debut. He tallied four assists in 32 matches with MLS NEXT Pro affiliate LAFC2 over the past two seasons.
