The New England Revolution acquired Argentinian attacker Luca Langoni from Boca Juniors on Friday.

The 22-year-old forward arrives on a club-record transfer fee, reported to be in the $7 million range.

Langoni joins the roster under the U22 Initiative and is signed through 2027 with an option for 2028.

He tallied 11 goals and four assists in 70 matches at Boca Juniors since joining the storied Buenos Aires club in 2022.

“We are excited to have secured an explosive attacking talent in Luca Langoni, who has honed his skills in one of the most competitive environments in the Americas at Boca Juniors,” Revs sporting director Curt Onalfo said.

“Luca is a dynamic winger who can use his pace and skill on the ball to score and create for his teammates. We are thrilled to have Luca on his way to New England.”

Langoni’s arrival could help the short-handed Revolution overcome the absences of Tomas Chancalay (torn ACL) and Carles Gil (leg).
