Luciano Acosta scored a brace, leading FC Dallas to a 4-2 win over the host Sporting KC on Saturday night.

Petar Musa and Bernard Kamungo also scored for Dallas (5-6-6, 21 points), which won in MLS play for the first time since a victory on April 27 over Inter Miami, snapping a six-match winless streak (0-3-3). FC Dallas now has points in four straight.

Shapi Suleymanov and Santiago Munoz responded for Sporting KC (4-10-4, 16 points), which has dropped back-to-back matches and is 1-2-3 over its last six contests.

Acosta was taken down by Jensen Miller in the 56th minute and was awarded a penalty. Acosta gave Dallas a 2-1 lead on the ensuing penalty kick.

Kansas City forward Khiry Shelton was shown a second yellow and sent off for his hard challenge on Pedro Martins in the 62nd minute.

Dallas took a 3-1 lead in the 69th minute as Kamungo tapped in the rebound off Musa’s shot.

Acosta added his second of the match in the 82nd minute, out-running Sporting defender Jacob Bartlett and beating keeper John Pulskamp.

Munoz cut Dallas’ lead in half, putting his right-footed strike past Maarten Paes in the 91st minute.

Sporting KC controlled the first-half possession, but the two sides were tied 1-1 at the whistle.

Kansas City got on the board in the 8th minute as Shapi Suleymanov curled a left-footed strike up and over the leaping Paes. Suleymanov’s marker is the earliest goal in a game this season for Kansas City.

FC Dallas responded three minutes later when Musa tapped in a cross from Shaq Moore. Musa now has four goal contributions in four regular-season appearances against Kansas City.

Saturday was the second of two meetings between the two clubs in 2025. Acosta and Leo Chu scored two minutes apart as Dallas doubled up Kansas City 2-1 on March 29 in the Lone Star State.
