Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel “Gaga” Slonina has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against FC Cincinnati with a head injury.

No details were given, with Slonina listed on Friday’s injury report. Also listed as out are Gaston Gimenez (hamstring), Andre Reynolds II (knee), Fabian Herbers (hip), Wyatt Omsberg (foot) and Jairo Torres (leg). The team said Torres underwent surgery to repair a left tibia stress fracture.

Slonina, 18, has 12 shutouts in 32 games played this season. He became the youngest player to start a game in goal in MLS history last season at age 17 and 81 days.

In August, the Addison, Ill., native completed a transfer to Chelsea of the English Premier League but will remain on loan to the Fire until January of 2023.
