FC Cincinnati and midfielder Kyle Scott mutually agreed to terminate his contract, the club announced Wednesday.

He signed with Cincinnati on Aug. 31 and played 91 minutes over four appearances the remainder of the 2021 season.

Scott, 24, signed a contract through the 2022 season with club options through 2024 after his contract with English club Newcastle United expired.

“We’d like to thank Kyle for his contributions to FC Cincinnati,” general manager Chris Albright said. “This was a decision made to allow him to continue his career while moving closer to his family. We wish him all the best for the future.”

Scott, who was born in the United Kingdom, is a dual citizen of England and the U.S.
