FC Dallas acquired the No. 3 pick in Tuesday’s draft and forward Dom Dwyer from Toronto FC on Monday in exchange for $50,000 in general allocation money.

Dallas exercised its one offseason contract buyout on Dwyer, making the 31-year-old veteran a free agent for the upcoming 2022 season.

Dwyer had one assist in 14 matches (six starts) during his lone season with Toronto in 2021. He has 81 goals and 19 assists in 209 games (171 starts) with Sporting Kansas City (2012-17), Orlando City SC (2017-20) and Toronto.

Dallas now holds the third and sixth picks in the three-round 2022 MLS SuperDraft. The No. 1 overall pick belongs to expansion club Charlotte FC. The draft begins Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET.
