The Columbus Crew acquired forward Ibrahim Aliyu from the Houston Dynamo on Thursday.

The Dynamo will receive $450,000 and up to $750,000 in conditional performance-based incentives. The club also will retain a sell-on percentage in the event of a future transfer.

“Aliyu is a young and dynamic player whose experience in MLS and the international level adds valuable depth and gives us another quality attacking option,” Crew general manager Issa Tall said. “We are excited to welcome Aliyu to Columbus and look forward to integrating him into our squad.”

Aliyu, 23, has yet to dent the scoresheet in eight matches (two starts) this season with the Dynamo. The Nigeria native has nine goals and five assists in 66 career MLS matches (51 starts) with Houston.
