Minnesota Twins outfielder Matt Wallner was placed on the paternity list on Saturday after his wife gave birth to the couple’s first child earlier in the day, the team announced.

After doubling and blasting a home run in Minnesota’s 9-4 home win over Kansas City on Friday, Wallner and his wife, Sydnie, welcomed a baby girl named Elliotte Bryn on Saturday morning.

Wallner, 27, is batting .218 with a career-high 16 home runs while driving in 27 runs in 74 games for the Twins this season.

In a corresponding move, Minnesota recalled outfielder Carson McCusker from Triple-A St. Paul to fill out the 26-man roster.

The 27-year-old has played in 87 games for St. Paul this year, hitting .245 with 19 homers, 19 doubles and 61 RBIs. It marks McCusker’s second stint with the Twins this season after making his MLB debut on May 18 at Milwaukee, going 1-for-6 in five games.
