MLB: Twins pick up club options on OF Max Kepler, INF Jorge Polanco

The Minnesota Twins picked up 2024 club options on outfielder Max Kepler and infielder Jorge Polanco on Thursday.

Minnesota exercised a $10 million option on Kepler, and snapped up a $10.5 million option on Polanco. Both players are 30 and have played their entire major league careers for the Twins.

Kepler led the Twins in homers (24), RBIs (66) and runs (72) in 130 games in 2023 while helping Minnesota win the American League Central. He batted .260 and slugged .484.

In eight-plus seasons with the Twins, Kepler has 153 homers and 466 RBIs to go with a .236 batting average over 967 career games.

Polanco batted .255 with 14 homers and 48 RBIs in 80 games last season. He had a .454 slugging percentage.

Polanco first reached the majors in 2014 and has a .269 career average in 832 games, with 112 homers and 447 RBIs.

Minnesota swept the Toronto Blue Jays in the wild-card round before losing in four games to the Houston Astros in the AL Division Series.
