Joe Ryan notched his fourth victory in four starts against Detroit this season with six shutout innings and the visiting Minnesota Twins ended the Tigers’ six-game winning streak 7-0 on Friday.

Ryan (13-8) gave up five hits and walked one while striking out eight. In those four wins against the Tigers, Ryan allowed just two runs in 23 2/3 innings while recording 33 strikeouts.

Carlos Correa hit a two-run home run, while Gio Urshela had two hits, scored two runs and drove in another. Ryan Jeffers supplied two hits, a run and an RBI, while Jermaine Palacios added three hits.

Minnesota (77-80) had 14 hits and only one starter, Gary Sanchez, failed to produce one. Sanchez walked twice.

The Tigers (63-93), who had six hits, left eight men on base.

Tigers starter Tyler Alexander (4-11) gave up three runs and five hits in five innings. He walked four and struck out six.

Minnesota took a 1-0 lead in the third. Palacios had a one-out single and scored on Mark Contreras’ double into the left-center field gap.

The Twins added to their lead in the fourth. Urshela led off with a walk and scored on Jeffers’ one-out triple down the left field line. Jake Cave knocked in Jeffers with a two-out single.

The Tigers got singles from Riley Greene and Harold Castro in the bottom of the inning but left them stranded.

Minnesota loaded the bases with two out in the fifth but Alexander escaped by inducing a Jeffers grounder.

Detroit had runners at the corners with two outs in the sixth. Ryan then struck out Spencer Torkelson looking to douse that threat.

In the seventh, Contreras walked, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch before Correa’s 22nd homer off Will Vest. The Twins made it 6-0 later in the inning when Urshela and Jeffers singled and Gilberto Celestino smacked a ground-rule double to right.

Detroit left two more runners stranded in the seventh.

The Twins tacked on another run in the eighth on Urshela’s run-scoring single.
