MLB: Royals scratch Brady Singer (illness) from Thursday’s start

The Kansas City Royals scratched right-hander Brady Singer from Thursday’s start at Minnesota due to illness.

The team recalled left-hander Daniel Lynch IV from Triple-A Omaha to take the mound against the Twins.

Singer, 27, is off to a strong start in his fifth season with the Royals. He is 4-2 with a 2.63 ERA through 11 starts.

Lynch, 27, has allowed two hits in seven scoreless innings in two games (one start) for Kansas City this season.
