Veteran left-hander Rich Hill is signing a minor-league contract with the Boston Red Sox, multiple media outlets reported.

Hill, 44, is no stranger to the Red Sox, having pitched for the club from 2010-12 as well as in 2015 and 2022.

Then again, the Boston-area native has also pitched for 12 other teams during his 19-year career in the majors.

He split last season with the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres, going 8-14 with a 5.41 ERA before becoming a free agent in the offseason.

Hill owns a 90-73 record with a 4.01 ERA in 382 career appearances (248 starts) since making his debut with the Chicago Cubs in 2005.
