MLB: Reports: Cubs reach 2-year deal with reliever Phil Maton

The Chicago Cubs reached a two-year agreement with right-handed reliever Phil Maton, multiple outlets reported.

The deal includes a club option for a third year, per The Athletic. Financial terms were not immediately available.

Maton, 32, split the 2025 season with the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers, posting a 2.79 ERA in 63 games.

He is 23-20 with 10 saves and a 3.98 ERA in 478 career games (one start) with seven teams since his 2017 debut.
