The Arizona Diamondbacks are in agreement with right-hander Michael Soroka on a one-year, $7.5 million contract, ESPN reported on Monday.

The 28-year-old former All-Star is coming off a 3-8 season with a 4.52 ERA in 22 games (17 starts) split between the Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs in 2025.

Soroka is 20-26 with a 3.85 ERA in 91 career games (69 starts) with the Atlanta Braves (2018-20, 2023), Chicago White Sox (2024), Nationals and Cubs.

He made the National League All-Star team and was Rookie of the Year runner-up in 2019 but has not returned to that level since missing the entire 2021 and 2022 seasons with Achilles injuries.

The Diamondbacks have holes in the rotation to fill with Corbin Burnes recovering from Tommy John surgery and Zac Gallen expected to leave in free agency.
