MLB: Red Sox sign rookie Kristian Campbell to 8-year extension

The Boston Red Sox on Wednesday signed rookie infielder/outfielder Kristian Campbell to an eight-year extension, with club options for 2033 and 2034.

The club did not disclose financial terms, but ESPN and MLB.com report the deal is worth $60 million guaranteed.

Campbell, 22, is five games into his major league career. He’s batting .375 with a homer and two RBIs. He has played four games at second base and one in left field.

The Red Sox selected Campbell in the fourth round of the 2023 draft. He batted .327 with 21 home runs, 82 RBIs and an OPS of .986 in two seasons of minor league ball. He also stole 27 bases.
