With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Marcus Semien hit the walk-off RBI single to complete the Texas Rangers’ 6-5 comeback win over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

Semien’s single to left scored Leody Taveras, who had singled and stolen second in front of him. The Rangers were able to avoid getting swept by the Mariners, and they broke Seattle’s three-game winning streak.

The Mariners’ comfortable 5-0 lead evaporated when the Rangers cut into the deficit with a four-run sixth inning. Taveras then hit the game-tying solo home run in the seventh.

With two on and one out in the sixth, Josh Smith produced the Rangers’ first run of the game with a single to center. Wyatt Langford hit the next pitch he saw deep to left center for a three-run home run.

Texas’ Kirby Yates (7-2) got the win in relief, while Seattle’s Andres Munoz (3-7) was saddled with the loss.

Seattle’s Bryan Woo threw six innings in the no-decision, giving up four runs on seven hits, while striking out four batters and giving up one walk.

Texas’ Andrew Heaney went 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision. He gave up four runs on seven hits, with four strikeouts and a walk.

Dylan Moore got the Mariners on the board first with a single in the top of the second to score Justin Turner.

Cal Raleigh followed up with a solo home run, his 31st homer of the year, to give Seattle a 2-0 lead in the third inning.

Seattle added three more runs in the top of the sixth. Victor Robles drove in two runs with a single, and when reliever Matt Festa’s attempt to pick him off second bounced into center field, Robles was able to run all the way home for a 5-0 Mariners lead.

The Rangers had 10 hits in the win, after having just two hits through the first five innings. Seattle logged eight hits in the loss.
