The Baltimore Orioles acquired right-hander Shane Baz from the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday for a package of four highly regarded prospects that includes two former first-round draft picks.

The Rays received catcher Caden Bodine, right-hander Michael Forret and outfielders Slater de Brun and Austin Overn, as well as a competitive balance draft pick late in the first round (31st overall) in 2026.

Baz, 26, was 10-12 with a 4.87 ERA in 31 starts for the Rays last season. In four seasons with Tampa Bay, the former No. 12 overall draft pick in 2017 is 17-17 with a 4.25 ERA in 54 starts.

Bodine was the No. 30 overall pick in the 2025 draft out of Coastal Carolina, while de Brun was the No. 37 overall pick out of high school in Bend, Ore.

Forret was a 14th-round pick in 2023 and Overn was a third-round selection in 2024. Both players reached Double-A Chesapeake last season.
