New York Mets right fielder Juan Soto left Tuesday night’s game at the San Diego Padres with an apparent left leg injury.

Soto fouled a Ryan Bergert pitch off his left shin in the top of the fourth inning and dropped to a knee between home plate and first base, receiving treatment from New York’s training staff. Soto completed the at-bat, grounding out to second baseman Jake Cronenworth.

Before the bottom of the fourth, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza lifted Soto, inserting Tyrone Taylor into his No. 3 spot in the lineup to play center field. Jeff McNeil moved from center to right.

Soto is batting .248 with 25 homers and 62 RBIs in his first season with the Mets.

At the time of Soto’s departure, San Diego had a 1-0 lead.
