MLB: Guardians activate RHP Triston McKenzie to face Orioles

The Cleveland Guardians activated right-hander Triston McKenzie from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.

In corresponding moves, right-hander Michael Kelly was optioned to Triple-A Columbus, while right-hander Tanner Bibee (hip) was moved to the 60-day injured list.

McKenzie, 26, was 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in two starts this season. He will make his first appearance since sustaining a right elbow sprain against the Houston Astros on June 10.

McKenzie posted a 7.36 ERA over 6 2/3 innings in a pair of minor-league rehab starts this month. He is 0-2 with a 5.25 ERA in two career starts against Baltimore.

Kelly, 31, had a 1-0 record with a 3.78 ERA in 14 relief appearances for Cleveland this season.

Bibee, 24, was 10-4 with a 2.98 ERA in 25 starts of his rookie season.
