Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman hit first-inning home runs and the Los Angeles Dodgers finished off a 4-0 victory over the visiting Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

Gavin Stone went five scoreless innings as the Dodgers won for the fifth time in their last six games and won a home series for the fourth time in their last five tries. Stone (6-2) gave up four hits with two walks and six strikeouts one start after he went seven scoreless against the New York Mets.

Austin Gomber gave up three runs in just three innings for the Rockies after skipping his last start with a sore elbow. Colorado had five hits and dropped two of three at Los Angeles after winning consecutive home series against the Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Guardians.

Gomber (1-3) allowed five hits with three walks and two strikeouts in his first outing of June after he delivered a 0.68 ERA in four May starts.

Betts gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead on Gomber’s third pitch when he hit a slider over the short wall in the left field corner. It was his ninth home run of the season and just his third since April 12.

Two batters after Betts went deep, Freeman upped the Los Angeles lead to 2-0 with a home run to center field just off the outstretched glove of Colorado’s Brenton Doyle. It was Freeman’s seventh.

The Dodgers scored their third run off Gomber in the third inning on a single from Miguel Rojas to bring home Freeman.

The Rockies threatened to break through in the fifth with runners at second and third after a two-out double from Charlie Blackmon, but Stone retired Ezequiel Tovar on a line drive to Freeman at first base to end the threat.

Tovar was 0-for-4 after he had three hits in each of the first two games of the series.

Three relievers finished off the Dodgers’ sixth shutout of the season, with Michael Grove going two innings without giving up a hit.
