The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-hander Kirby Yates from the 15-day injured list in advance of Saturday’s game against the San Diego Padres and placed left-handed starter Blake Snell on the paternity list.

Yates, 38, has been on the IL since July 29 with lower back discomfort. He is 4-3 with a 4.31 ERA in 39 relief appearances during his first season with the Dodgers.

Over 11 major league seasons, Yates is 30-24 with a 3.25 ERA in 461 relief appearances for the Tampa Bay Rays (2014-15), New York Yankees (2016), Los Angeles Angels (2017), San Diego Padres (2017-20), Atlanta Braves (2022-23), Texas Rangers (2024), and Dodgers.

Snell, 32, has made just six starts in his first season with the Dodgers after dealing with shoulder inflammation. He is 3-2 with a 1.97 ERA, returning from the IL on Aug. 2. The two-time Cy Young Award winner is 79-60 with a 3.16 ERA in 217 starts over 10 seasons for the Rays (2016-20), Padres (2021-23), San Francisco Giants (2024), and Dodgers.
