The Arizona Diamondbacks activated All-Star shortstop Geraldo Perdomo, who was on the 10-day injured list because of a meniscus tear in his right knee.

In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks had optioned first baseman Pavin Smith to Triple-A Reno after Sunday’s game.

An All-Star last season, Perdomo, 24, has not played since an April 3 loss to the New York Yankees. He is 6-for-24 (.250) in seven games.

In parts of four seasons with Arizona, Perdomo is batting .222 with 11 home runs, 90 RBIs and 25 stolen bases in 310 games. He led the major leagues with 14 sacrifice bunts in 2023 and tied for the lead of 12 in 2022.

Smith, 28, is batting .268 (15-for-56) with three homers and 14 RBIs in 27 games this season. In parts of five seasons with the Diamondbacks, he is batting .241 with 31 homers and 130 RBIs in 328 games.
