The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated rookie right-handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski from the 15-day injured list on Friday in order for him to start a three-game series opener against the host Cincinnati Reds.

Misiorowski was placed on the IL with a left tibia contusion after his last start July 28 against the Chicago Cubs.

Misiorowski, 23, broke Paul Skenes’ record for the fastest to be named to an All-Star Game when he was chosen as a National League squad injury replacement after just five starts in the major leagues.

Through seven starts, the flamethrower has amassed a 4-1 record and a 2.70 ERA with 47 strikeouts and 14 walks across 33 1/3 innings.

It’s more good news for the Brewers (76-44), who own the best record in the big leagues. Misiorowski joins a team on a 12-game winning streak that began Aug. 1.

After sweeping the Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates in three games apiece, Milwaukee visits NL Central foe Cincinnati, the only team in the majors yet to be swept in a series this year.
