Atlanta Braves starting shortstop Orlando Arcia signed a three-year contract extension worth $7.3 million on Thursday.

The deal includes a $2 million club option — $1 million buyout — for 2026.

Arcia, 28, was entering the final year of his contract and set to make $1.3 million this season. He could end up with a four-year, $8.3 million deal if the fourth season is exercised.

Arcia won the job over Vaughn Grissom and Braden Shewmake after Dansby Swanson left in free agency in the offseason.

Arcia is entering his third season in Atlanta. He hit .244 with nine home runs and 30 RBIs in 67 games last season.

For his career, Arcia is batting .243 with 53 home runs, 216 runs and 223 RBIs in 642 games (552 starts) for Milwaukee and the Braves. Atlanta acquired Arcia from the Brewers in April 2021.
