Brandon Marsh’s pinch-hit sacrifice fly in the eighth inning drove in the go-ahead run and propelled the visiting Philadelphia Phillies to a 3-2 comeback win over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday.

Weston Wilson led off the eighth with a double off reliever Joe Jimenez (1-5) and went to third on a flyout. Wilson scored when Marsh hit a long fly to left field, producing only the second RBI from a Philadelphia pinch hitter this season.

The win extended the Phillies’ lead over Atlanta in the National League East to seven games and ended the Braves’ three-game winning streak. Atlanta leads the season series with Philadelphia 5-3.

Matt Strahm (5-2) pitched a scoreless seventh to earn the win. Carlos Estevez allowed a walk and a single in the ninth before retiring Whit Merrifield with runners on second and third to secure his 22nd save.

Phillies starter Aaron Nola worked 5 1/3 innings and left the game with two runners on base. Jeff Hoffman entered from the bullpen and got Gio Urshela to ground into a double play and end the threat. Nola allowed two runs on eight hits, two walks and five strikeouts.

Atlanta starter Max Fried went seven innings and allowed two runs on four hits, one walk and four strikeouts. J.T. Realmuto, the final hitter he faced, hit a long fly that left fielder Jarred Kelenic caught against the wall. Fried and Realmuto exchanged smiles as they left the field.

The Braves went up 2-0 in the fourth inning on Orlando Arcia’s two-run homer, his 12th this season. The Phillies pulled even in the sixth on Kyle Schwarber’s RBI groundout and Trea Turner’s ensuing sacrifice fly.

Philadelphia’s Alec Bohm went 0-for-4, which ended his 36-game on-base streak. It was the longest active streak in the major leagues and the longest single-season streak by a Phillies player since Odubel Herrera had a 41-game streak in 2018.
