Jin Young Ko of South Korea moved back into the top spot of the women’s world golf rankings on Monday, all without playing in an event this season.

Ko moved back ahead of Nelly Korda despite not playing in either the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions or this past weekend’s Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Raton, Fla.

Ko has 9.51 average points, while Korda is at 9.48.

Korda, whose most recent 12-week stint at No. 1 began in November, needed to finish at least in sole possession of 18th at the Gainbridge LPGA, but she ended in a tie for 20th.

Ko is making her fourth appearance as the top-ranked women’s player in the world. She first moved into the top spot in April of 2019 for a 12-week run, lost the spot for a brief period, then regained it for 92 consecutive weeks starting in July of 2019.

Korda and Ko have traded the spot since then, with Korda first becoming No. 1 in June of 2021. In total, Ko has held the top spot for 107 weeks in her career, while Korda has held it for 29 weeks.
