LOL: Team Liquid, 100 Thieves triumph in play-in round at 2025 Split 2

Team Liquid and 100 Thieves closed out the second and final day of cross-group battles on Sunday in the League of Legends LTA North 2025 Split 2 in Los Angeles.

Eight teams advanced from the group phase last weekend to the play-in this weekend, which determined the six teams that will advance to the best-of-five, double-elimination playoffs on May 25-June 15.

In cross-group play, each team plays a team from the other group who finished in the same position in the Group A and B standings. Teams that finished first and second in each group play to determine the top four seeds. Teams that finished third and fourth in each group play elimination matches.

In the match for third-place seeding, Team Liquid swept Shopify Rebellion 2-0, winning in 29 minutes on blue and 35 minutes on red.

The elimination match also was a sweep, as 100 Thieves beat Disguised in 28 minutes on blue and 29 minutes on red.

On Saturday, FlyQuest swept Cloud9 2-0 for first-place seeding, and Dignitas eliminated LYON with a 2-1 outcome.

The total prize pool is $160,000, with $80,000 going to the winner and $40,000 to the runner-up. The winner also receives entry into the Mid-Season Invitational and the winner and runner-up qualify for the Esports World Cup.
