After making some roster changes last week, Golden Guardians elected to retain top laner Eric “Licorice” Ritchie and mid laner Nicholas Antonio “Ablazeolive” Abbott, both from Canada, Upcomer reported Monday.

The team also will bring back former coach Joo-sung “Olleh” Kim of South Korea as a player in a support role. It will be his first appearance on an active roster since 2019.

In addition, Upcomer reported Sunday that Milo “Pridestalkr” Wehnes of the Netherlands will be the team’s jungler.

The personnel news comes after last week’s revelations that the team released Leandro “Newbie” Marcos, who started last season at starting support. The 24-year-old from Argentina was demoted to the academy team in May after signing with Golden Guardians last November.

Newbie was replaced by first-year League Championship Series player Jonathan “Chime” Pomponio.

Also let go last week were academy jungler Tae-ho “Timothy” Kim, who goes by RoseThorn, and mid laner Jong-yun “Jay” Cho, better known as Yunbee.
